Progression born, for the love of racing:
Basso Bikes and CeramicSpeed partner to launch limited edition "Diamante SV"
Sport is about passion, cycling in particular. It is about goals and commitment. It is about learning and thriving. And it is about progression.
When Marino Basso crossed the finish line of the World Championships in Gap on 6th of August 1972 he had not only earned himself the iconic rainbow stripes, but had added an elusive victory to his already impressive palmarès. Winning multiple stages in all three Grand Tours, the Italian was at the zenith of his illustrious career.
The experiences gained on the bike later formed the foundation of what is now known as one of Italy's most sought-after brands. Driven by the passion to build technically advanced bicycles that make for great riding, Basso Bikes has become a household name in the industry.
Established in 1977 by Marino's brother Alcide, the company celebrates its 40th anniversary with the launch of the marquee "Diamante SV" and a limited edition of this model.
The bike beautifully combines tradition with the latest techniques of modern frame building. Its aerodynamically shaped carbon chassis, sports not only a semi-integrated front end, but also the "Comfort Kit", a solution that allows for a customized height setup, without compromising frame rigidity. Meanwhile, the 3B triple point integrated seat clamp, guarantees the smoothest riding feel, despite the frame's stiff character.
To top off the progressive nature of the limited edition "Diamante SV", Basso Bikes partners with Danish ceramic bearings specialist CeramicSpeed. Since its inception in 2004 by former in-line skating World Record holder Jacob Csizmadia, the Danish company has been pushing the boundaries of how to build the highest quality bearings with the lowest possible friction. Both brands share the same passion and commitment for development and performance. With CeramicSpeed being known for its outstanding drivetrain optimization, Basso has chosen the company's OSPW System and Bottom Bracket as their first choice to round out this unique bike's setup.
The OSPW System is a major factor for improved drivetrain performance due to its unique design and use of extremely low friction CeramicSpeed Bearings. Using the same high standard of ceramic bearings in the Bottom Bracket ensures the rider experiences a ride unlike any other.
The "Diamante SV" is a race bike at heart - and the limited-edition version, one of the most technically advanced bikes available.
